The Cabins: Each newly constructed cabin hosts a full kitchen with dining table, a split bathroom, living area with a couch, a separate bedroom with a  twin size bunk bed and queen size bed, and queen size pull down Murphy bed in the living area. Each cabin is also equipped with a charcoal grill and rocking chairs on a private porch perfect for relaxing. The cabins ideally sleep parties of 5-6 guests and are expertly themed to match the outdoorsy woodland feel of the resort.

The Resort: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is located on 750 acres of Florida woodlands along Bay Lake in the Magic Kingdom resort area. The resort holds both cabins and campsites for RVs and tents. Because the resort property is so vast, golf carts are recommended to be used to get around the resort easily. Guests can bring their own, or they can be rented at the resort. Guests are known to decorate their cabins and campsites during Halloween and Christmas to add even more festive flair to their lodgings.

Dining Options: The most notable dining experience found at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is the world-famous Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue where guests can sing and laugh along enjoying dinner theatre. This “dinner and show” experience is offered at 6:15 pm and 8:30 pm nightly and lasts roughly two hours.

The resort also has quick-service options at Trail’s End Marketplace and P & J’s Southern Takeout, small bites and craft cocktails at Crockett’s Tavern, a snack bar at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, and a chuck wagon at the Settlement Trading Post.

Pools: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort boasts two swimming pools. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool has a 67-foot-long corkscrew slide, hot tub, and fort-themed water play area for younger kids. The Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool has a calmer pool with a hot tub as well.

Unique Recreation: This resort has some of the most unique and plentiful recreational activities available at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests can use the tree-lined jogging trails (one of the longest on Disney property!), take an archery class, or rent canoes, kayaks, bicycles, or golf carts to explore the acres of scenery. There are also two arcades to play at, opportunities for fishing, and volleyball and basketball courts!

The newly reimagined Tri-Circle-D Ranch is also located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort which hosts trail horseback riding, and horse drawn wagon and carriage rides. You can even get an up-close and personal look at the “Happiest Horses on Earth” which include the Main Street, U.S.A. horses and Cinderella’s Ponies. Once the sun sets, guests can also gather on Clementine Beach to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks display and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. Another unique evening activity is located at the Campground Theatre where guests can roast marshmallows with Chip and Dale, participate in a campfire sing-a-long, and watch a Disney movie beneath the stars.
