If you are looking for an all-in-one family vacation that is jam packed with fun for all ages, look no further than the Carnival Cruise Line Horizon ship. This ship has specialized family activities and staterooms that make cruising a breeze. The Carnival Horizon sails from Miami, Florida, to the Caribbean (itineraries vary) and typically sails on trips between 6-9 days depending on the itinerary. Aside from the spa, the shows, the delicious food, and the waterslides and pools, this ship is known for its Seuss at Sea events. Seuss at Sea includes the Dr. Seuss-A-Palooza Parade and Story Time, Thing 1 and Thing 2 Dr. Seuss Breakfast, and Dr. Seuss Bookville. Keep reading for more information about these fun activities and to learn all about the different stateroom categories on the Carnival Horizon.
Dr. Seuss-A-Palooza Parade and Story Time: Join your favorite pals for a parade around the decks of the Carnival Horizon. You can even jump in the procession! The Dr. Seuss-A-Palooza Story Time is an interactive performance that includes whimsical characters on stage singing and acting out classic Dr. Seuss stories.
Thing 1 and Thing 2 Dr. Seuss Breakfast: Cat in the Hat lovers can take advantage of this fun event to snag a photo with their favorite character. Guests start their dining experience with a meet-and-greet with the Cat in the Hat prior to entering the dining area. Thing 1 and Thing 2 make their way around the dining room during meal time, and then Sam I Am is available towards the end of the meal.
The menu is catered to kiddos with lots of sugary themed options if some adult guests don’t want to partake in the menu due to the sugar content but want to enjoy the experience with the family, dining before or after this short experience may be ideal. It is only $10 per person for this specialty dining experience. Since Carnival caters more towards adults and kiddos and families, this is one of the few kid focused and family focused events on the sailing so we recommend securing this as soon as your onboard activities open for reservations. As part of Royal Carriage Vacations free travel planning services, it is always our pleasure to secure all of your reservations including the hard to get reservations, for you whether it be specialty dining, onboard activities, or shore excursions.
Dr. Seuss Bookville: Inside this area exclusive to the Carnival Horizon ship, guests will find a wonky, Seuss-inspired library. Complete with whimsical furniture, unique reading events, and educational experiences.
Carnival Horizon Stateroom Categories: The ship has staterooms categories typical of other rooms aboard Carnival ships, which all include private bathrooms and dedicated service attendants. There are interior staterooms, which are cozy (but with plenty of space!) and a budget-friendly way to sail the high seas. Ocean View staterooms include an outside window perfect for taking in the ocean waters, and balcony rooms include a private verandah with chairs to enjoy the views. Finally, suites are the largest of the staterooms on board and include: private verandas, VIP check-in and boarding, and priority debarkation. On the Carnival Horizon, any stateroom in the categories outlined below include unique perks:
- Family Harbor: Access to the family harbor lounge with their stateroom card.
- Havana: Havana lounge, bar, and pool areas accessible with a wristband and for guests ages 12 and up.
- Cloud 9 Spa: Located near the spa and includes priority spa appointments, unlimited use of the thermal suites, a unique welcome ritual, two complimentary fitness classes per guest, and other special spa discounts.
