Carnival Cruise Line is a titan in the cruise ship industry with 27 ships in its fleet cruising all over the world. Carnival’s ship Horizon will be highlighted in this article to explore all of the activities and amenities available onboard. 

What itineraries are available?

The Carnival Horizon currently sails from both Miami, Florida and Barcelona, Spain, with itineraries spanning 6 to 10 or more nights. Transatlantic, Southern Caribbean, and Western Caribbean are presently available. 

What types of onboard activities are available?

SportSquare: Located on an upper deck, guests will find a jogging track, pool and ping pong tables, and basketball, volleyball, and soccer courts available to use.

Nighttime Shows: From the live Broadway-style shows, to Family Feud Live, to Punchliner Comedy club, there is no lack of nightlife and entertainment for everyone. We recommend guests arrive at shows at least 30 minutes before the start to snag the best seating.

Ropes Course: Play high above the sea on the daring ropes course. Closed-toe shoes and shirts with sleeves are required for the ropes course and the sky ride.

IMAX Theatre: First-run blockbuster movies and documentaries can be seen for a fee at the onboard IMAX Theatre. Offerings vary by sailing.

Dr. Seuss Activities: Kids will love all of the fun to be had with Seuss At Sea, exclusive to Carnival Cruise Line. From the Thing 1 and Thing 2 Breakfast event to the Seuss-a-palooza Parade and Storytime, there is no shortage of wacky good times. Kids and families can also hang out in Dr. Seuss Bookville reading popular storybooks and participating in special reading events.

Pools: Guests can choose from either the family-friendly or adults-only pools onboard. Kids will love to splash around in the Dr. Seuss Waterworks area, and big kids (and adults alike) will find thrills on the water slides! 

What amenities are available onboard?

Cloud 9 Spa: Immerse yourself in luxury and premium therapies all while experiencing ultimate relaxation within the Cloud 9 Spa. Services include, but are not limited to, massages, facials, use of thermal suites, and body treatments. The Cloud 9 Spas also include locker rooms, showers, and saunas for guests to use.

Cloud 9 Salon: The salon is open daily from 8am to 10pm (subject to change) and offer a wide variety of services including: manicures and pedicures, hair cutting, coloring, and styling, teeth whitening, waxing, men’s services, acupuncture, and eyebrow shaping. 

Cloud 9 Fitness Center and Studio: The fitness center is open daily from 6am to 10 pm (subject to change) and includes a range of equipment such as treadmills, weight machines, and free weights. Regularly scheduled fitness classes are held inside the studio and can be attended by guests for a fee.

Is there specialty dining available?

Yes! Apart from the main dining room that is included in the price of your cruise, there are several specialty dining options available (both included in your cruise package or for a separate fee). Options include: Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse and BBQ, Blue Laguna Cantina, Guy’s Burger Joint, Bonsai Teppanyaki, Steakhouse, Chef’s Table, JiJi’s Asian Kitchen, Lido Marketplace, Cucina del Capitano, and the Thing 1 and Thing 2 Breakfast. Some of these options require advance reservations; please inquire with your Royal Carriage Vacations travel expert.

What else should I know?

• A laundrette is available on board for washing and drying clothes, and also for freshening clothing items. The washers take about 15 minutes to run a cycle and the dryers need about 35 minutes. Carnival staff will remove any irons or steamers from your luggage if they are packed, and you can pick them up at the port when you return from your cruise. However, you can use the iron in the launderette rooms.
• Staterooms aboard the Horizon range from inside family rooms to expansive suites, and everything in between.
