One of the main draws for guests at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, is the Dr. Seuss-themed land found in Islands of Adventure (IOA). Seuss Landing is great for kids and kids-at-heart who love the whimsical heart of Dr. Seuss books and there are enough fun options to keep everyone entertained.
What rides are available? Four unique kid-friendly attractions that draw inspiration from The Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish are found throughout Seuss Landing. Make sure to take a spin atop an elephant bird (yes, an elephant bird) and other colorful characters on the Caro-Seuss-el merry-go-round. The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! even gives passengers a birds-eye view of the land.
Are there places to shop for Dr. Seuss merchandise? Yes! There are three merchandise shopping options in Seuss Landing: Cats, Hats, & Things, All The Books You Can Read; and Snookers and Snookers Sweet Candy Cookers. The book-lovers of your travel group will fall in love with All The Books You Can Read where they can browse a wide selection of Dr. Seuss books. Hot Tip: see if you can spot Theodore Geisel’s likeness (a.k.a. Dr. Seuss) above a storefront when visiting Seuss Landing.
Are there dining options? Yes! There are four uniquely themed dining and snack options. Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous is located in the “Big Top” and offers a hearty selection of lunch and dinner options, including pizza burgers, and fried chicken. If you snag a seat inside, you will have a front-row seat to the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! And can give a wave to the passengers. Sam I Am may not like green eggs and ham, but we sure do! This fun spot is located near the front of Seuss Landing and has outdoor seating along the water (open seasonally). It offers a wide variety of specialty tater tots. Make sure to get the pizza tots and a souvenir Who Hash can! Moose Juice Goose Juice offers a selection of frozen juices and other snacks; the perfect refreshment in the hot Florida sun. Finally, Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop offers sundaes, waffle cones, and sundaes on a stick. Don’t forget that you can personalize your toppings!
Is there anywhere to rest? Yes! There are plenty of benches and shady areas throughout the land.
Dr. Seuss Character Zone tips: In Dr. Seuss style, there is even more fun to be had with special character appearances. There are regular meet-and-greet sessions around Seuss Landing throughout the day where you can snag a photo opportunity with your favorite character. Keep your eyes peeled for a special appearance from the Grinch near the Christmas holiday season.
Story Time tips: Formally called the “Oh! The Stories You’ll Hear!” show, this daily interactive performance outside of All The Books You Can Read includes several favorite Dr. Seuss characters dancing and acting out a musical retelling of some of the most beloved Dr. Seuss stories. Check the app the day you are visiting for the scheduled performance times to ensure you catch this enchanting experience.
GrinchMas: Seuss Landing would not be complete without a special Grinch holiday celebration during the Christmas season. Make sure to catch the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular show and look for special guests Whos spreading cheer throughout the area.
