Kidcot Fun Stops Explained

By Dr. Jenna Liphart Rhoads

Did you know that EPCOT has a completely free activity for kids that will keep them busy while the adults “travel” around the World Showcase? The World Showcase at EPCOT in Orlando, Florida, is beloved by guests for the unique food options, authentic theming and shows, immersive architecture, and live entertainment such as musicians and other performing artists. EPCOT is often thought of as an adult-oriented park at Walt Disney World, but the Kidcot Fun Stops activity is an under-utilized opportunity to engage kids in each country of the World Showcase. Continue reading to have all of your Kidcot questions answered.

What is Kidcot?

Each country around the World Showcase has a “Kidcot Fun Stop” (usually a child-friendly table with chairs) manned by cast members that is either indoors or outdoors. In some countries, the location of the Kidcot table may be difficult to spot (such as Canada’s location at the exit of the Canada Far and Wide show), but any cast member will be happy to point guests in the right direction. At the Kidcot stations, kids can color or decorate a passport-sized sheet of paper with a scene unique to each country, collect stamps, or complete an activity. Each card also includes interesting information about the country too. As kids travel “around the world” the papers, stamps, or activities come together to make a unique souvenir housed in a plastic bag “suitcase”. The Kidcot Fun Stop activities do occasionally undergo minor changes (stamps, passport pages, stickers, etc.) but the overall theme and fun stay the same.

How do I sign-up?

Easy! Simply ask a cast member at whichever country’s station you chose to start at for the Kidcot activity. If you tell the cast member that it is your first station, they will also give you the plastic base “suitcase” to keep the papers in. The plastic bag also helps to protect the items gathered in each country.

What is the cost?

This activity is 100% FREE with park admission to EPCOT.

What is the recommended age for the Kidcot Fun Stops?

Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in this memorable activity.

Do kids need to complete every activity?

Nope! Kids can choose to complete the activity in each country, or they can elect to only participate in a few countries. The activity also does not need to be completed all on the same day. If you are planning to visit EPCOT several times during your trip, Kidcot can be completed over several days.
